🐣✨ What an egg‑cellent display of creativity! ✨🐣 A huge well done to all the children who took part in our Easter Bonnet and Egg Design Competition. The imagination, colour, and care that went into every bonnet and every beautifully decorated egg was truly inspiring. Each creation showed just how talented and hardworking our young artists are. You should all be incredibly proud of what you made — we certainly are.

Happy Red Nose Day from all of us at Chesterton Primary! Our children have been wearing bright red noses today — all to help raise money for an amazing cause. So far, we have raised £285! Thank you to our wonderful families for supporting Red Nose Day and helping us make a real difference. Together, we’re showing that even small acts of silliness can create big change.

We are delighted to announce that out Reading Garden is now open and ready for all of our children to enjoy. We are pleased that this project has come to completion in the same week as World Book Day this year and today we held a special ribbon cutting ceremony with school council to mark the event. We would like to thank SOCS (our PTA) for funding this project and buying the most wonderful resources for our children to use. We have a brand new cosy shed filled with books, beanbags, lights and signs that have brought this space to life. School council played a big role in choosing the signage for the Reading Garden and spent time planting flowers in the planters earlier this year. Children across the school will be able to enjoy this space during their weekly library time slot and we are delighted to share our love for reading with you all. Happy reading everyone!

Happy World Book Day from Chesterton Primary School! We have had an absolutely magical day at school today, the children have amazed us with their costumes this year and have been so excited to take part in their World Book Day activities. Thank you to the parents who were able to attend our parent share session this morning, the children loved having their grown-ups in school on this special day to celebrate reading with them. It was great to see so many children joining in with the excitement during assembly where they were able to show each other their costumes and share their favourite stories. The positivity and joy that was spread throughout the school today was absolutely wonderful and we are so proud of every child at Chesterton Primary School for their efforts today. The children were set a challenge to decorate their classroom doors during the day and final judgements are being made right now! The winner will be shared and celebrated in assembly tomorrow morning! We are very excited to find out which year group will receive the winning prize. The energy and enthusiasm for reading across the school was wonderful today. The library was buzzing with children reading at lunch time, children were sharing stories on the playground in the beautiful sunshine, Year 2 and Year 6 took part in a class partner reading activity and children in the younger year groups enjoyed searching for dragons and talked about what made them special and unique just like Marmaduke the very Different Dragon. Zog and the Flying Doctors made an aperance today to spread some magic during World Book Day and we were all very impressed with Miss Peet’s flying car! We hope your children spend the evening talking to you about their World Book Day celebrations and we are excited to see which books they buy with their book tokens this week.
